The night was January 5th, 2024. Hunter had been asking Maggie out for weeks, and she finally said yes. The Southern gentleman that he is, Hunter arrived to pick her up and stood in front of his car in his cowboy boots, wearing a big ol’ grinning smile from ear to ear as he paced back and forth like a bundle of nerves, ready to open the door for his beautiful date. Maggie, of course, kept him waiting for 25 minutes — because she is, nevertheless, fashionably late to everything. In true Hunter fashion, he came prepared with a bottle of lukewarm champagne and red Solo cups, proving romance doesn’t always require glassware — just good intentions.
It was love at first sight — with a comical twist. (That builds character, right?) On their very first date, Hunter managed to break two wine glasses. Whether it was nervous jitters or simply trying to impress Maggie without much wine-drinking experience, Maggie couldn’t stop laughing — and that laughter set the tone for everything that followed. Nobody’s quite sure they ever actually heard what the other was saying that night, because they talked each other’s ears off and were way too busy talking to listen.
Since that day, Maggie and Hunter’s relationship has been carried by true love, strong faith, and SEC football. An Ole Miss Rebel marrying an Alabama girl— who’d have thunk it? Maggie never lets Hunter forget Alabama’s 17 National Championships, while Hunter tries to defend Lane Kiff... oh wait, a touchy subject, to say the least.
Good humor and lots of laughs sit at the center of their relationship, with Ollie the King Charles Cavalier Spaniel often stealing the spotlight and becoming the punchline of many jokes. From waltzing in the kitchen after dinner to Billy Strings, to traveling across Italy during a train strike — Maggie distracting a train manager while Hunter sneaks their luggage onboard — the two are truly two peas in a pod, always having each other’s backs.
With hearts anchored in commitment, grounded in faith, and overflowing with love, Maggie and Hunter are ready to take on forever — together.
